On Thursday, Oct. 5, students in Mr. Stevenson’s Kindergarten class and Mrs. Terracciano’s Pre-K class joined senior citizens at the Waterford Community Center for the “Owl Prowl.” The program – run by the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center of Mystic – gave the students and seniors a chance to get up close with owls like “Otis.”
Students got to pet an owl and listened to a variety of information and facts about the birds. The children then worked together with the seniors to dissect owl pellets.
Owl Prowl was made possible through a Waterford Educational Foundation grant for intergenerational programs.
